Parking Lot Expansion Project - DONE!!!
Only landscaping in the spring remains!
The Parking Lot Expansion Project:
-
Expanded and improved parking, drainage, and safety.
-
Is consistent with our long-term goals, and a necessary component of our mission and growth.
ISSUES
-
We had the following parking spaces: 38 in our adjacent north parking lot, 23 in our south parking lot across 6th Street (owned by St. John), 16 available in the Sauk County Human Services parking lot across Locust Street, and approximately 56 spaces on the street.
-
Lighting was inadequate in north parking lot.
-
The condition of most of the asphalt was deteriorated due to age.
-
Of great concern was the safety issue caused by our current parking lot configuration as children (and adults) walked into traffic immediately upon exiting the education wing.
-
Drainage and safety were issues with our north parking lot. The water that did not drain away formed ice and puddles, creating hazardous conditions for those on foot.
-
Roof water drained back toward the building. The north church foundation is deteriorating and water leaks into the basement.
