We Invite You

St. John has many opportunities for members of the congregation to participate in lay ministries. Use of the phase "something for everyone" is very appropriate.

Members who feel comfortable in front of groups might want to volunteer as lectors or communion assistants, or participate in any of St. John's music ensembles.

Those who prefer less visibility are invited to be radio monitors, videographers of services for cable TV broadcast, members of the Altar Guild, serve with any of St. John's boards and committees, provide refreshments for Sunday fellowship, help with seasonal decorations.

People are always welcome to join the usher and greeter teams. And, of course, the youth and education departments have many needs and opportunities for anyone who wishes to share their time and talents.

Adult Ministry

A variety of activities are available for adults including:

Adult Forums
Bible study
Special interest seminars
Educational workshops
Retreats (single, couple or family)
St. John Women's Circles
Quilting
CareNet and Food from the Heart

Seasonal activities
Potlucks
Enrichment programs
Congregation Events & Fellowship
Music Ministry

Announcements regarding such activities are given in the schedule of events, the weekly bulletins, and in the monthly newsletter, The Evangel.

An adult library is located across from the church office in the upper level and the children's library is in the lower level of the education wing.

As an ecumenical church, St. John and its members are actively involved with local, state, national and international charity and benevolence organizations.
